ABSTRACT
Il mercato dei prodotti biologici è andato costantemente crescendo nel mondo negli ultimi anni. In Italia, i dati più recenti elaborati dall’ISMEA (Istituto per i Servizi del Mercato Agroalimentare), mostrano un incremento nel 2010 per i prodotti biologici confezionati pari all’11,6% ed una presenza di oltre 47.600 operatori, il più alto valore europeo.
L'agricoltura biologica tuttavia non va considerata solamente alla luce del successo commerciale dei suoi prodotti ma anche e soprattutto quale mezzo efficace per far fronte alle grandi sfide che l'agricoltura dovrà affrontare nei prossimi decenni. Essa infatti contribuisce alla costituzione di sistemi agricoli a basso input, assicurando produzioni di qualità, salvaguardando nel contempo l’ambiente e l’equità sociale.
Questo richiede profonde conoscenze che possono derivare da un forte impulso riservato alla ricerca e all’innovazione. La Rete Italiana per la Ricerca in Agricoltura Biologica (RIRAB) intende contribuire a perseguire tale obiettivo, rafforzando gli studi e le ricerche nel settore da parte della comunità scientifica ed incoraggiando la collaborazione tra ricercatori e gli altri attori del settore, in particolare le aziende attive nel settore.
Nella pubblicazione sono riportati gli Abstract dei contributi presentati dai ricercatori al 1° Congresso della RIRAB.
Organic market has been steadily growing in the world in recent years. In Italy, organic packaged products show an increase in 2010 of 11.6% and the presence of more than 47,600 firms, the highest value in Europe. Organic farming, however, should not be considered only for the commercial success of its products but also and especially as an effective means to meet the great challenges that agriculture faces in the coming decades. In fact, it contributes to low-input agricultural systems, ensuring quality products, meanwhile preserving the environmental and social equity.
This requires fundamental knowledge that can result from a strong support to research and innovation. From this point of view, Italy can take into account a number of researchers actively working in different institutions. The Italian Network for Research in Organic Agriculture (RIRAB) aims to contribute in achieving the objective by strengthening researches in this field and encouraging collaboration between researchers and other stakeholders.
Through its first Congress, RIRAB implemented its mission, fostering an open dialogue between research and production. The program includes three sessions that reflect the priority research areas indicated by the Italian Technology Platform for Organic Farming in Italy PTBio Italia and the European Technology Platform TP Organics. During the sessions, the most significant results achieved were presented.
In the Abstract Book are published, in Italian and in English, the Abstracts presented by the researchers.
